Osteodensitometry

Bone density measurement

Recognizing osteoporosis

Bone density measurement determines the density and calcium salt content of the bones. This allows a reduction in bone density (osteopenia) or osteoporosis to be detected. If osteoporosis is already known, we can monitor the therapeutic effect of treatment.

X-rays

For the examination, very low-dose X-rays are sent through the measuring range and the attenuation of these rays is measured. The examination is painless and non-invasive.

Examination procedure

You lie down on a special examination table that looks like a couch. The lumbar spine and the hip bones, sometimes the forearm, are used as the measuring point. No special preparation is necessary for the examination.

Bone density measurement for your health

Protect yourself against osteoporosis and maintain your mobility. Have your bone density checked regularly and stay strong and safe on your feet.
